At one of the DEI trainings I have attended, and and but statements were mentioned. Broadly, you could say &quot;I am not flexible and/but I am a dancer&quot;. A friend of mine gave the example of &quot;I am passionate and I am a Black woman, but I am not an angry Black woman&quot;. It is so frustrating, however, that it is easier to tune into stereotypes than to think consciously on your own. Society almost tells us what we have to think or how we perceive others, and I think that&#039;s why people tune into stereotypes so quickly.]]></description>
